DENVER—Denver police say a man was run over and seriously injured when he tried to stop someone driving his pickup by standing in front of it.
Authorities said Wednesday 53-year-old Timothy J. Walcott of Englewood was in serious condition at Denver Health Medical Center.
Police spokesman Sonny Jackson says investigators believe Walcott gave the driver permission to use his pickup, but it wasn’t returned.
Walcott spotted the pickup Tuesday, 24 hours after the suspect took it, and tried to block it. Jackson says a passenger got out but the driver gunned the pickup and ran over Walcott.
The passenger was questioned and released. The pickup was recovered but no arrests have been made.
