Identifying the body found in a burned car in Rocky Mountain National Park on Wednesday may take weeks, authorities said today.
An investigation is underway, but the fire appears to be the result of a car accident, according to a statement this afternoon from the National Park Service.
The 2008 Toyota Camry with Colorado plates apparently ran off the road sometime Tuesday night and burst into flames. The motorist’s body was found by a park employee near the Kawuneeche Visitor Center at about 7 a.m. Wednesday.
No other information about the investigator or the victim was released today.
