DENVER—The U.S. Senate has confirmed Tom Strickland, a former U.S. attorney for Colorado, as assistant secretary of the interior for fish, wildlife and parks.
The vote 89-2 vote came Thursday.
Strickland will oversee policy for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Park Service.
Strickland lost two Senate races against Colorado Republican Wayne Allard. He was former Gov. Dick Lamm’s director of policy and research.
Strickland’s boss is Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, who resigned his U.S. Senate seat from Colorado to join Obama’s Cabinet.
