DENVER—A grand jury has handed up indictments against 22 people suspected of dealing drugs throughout the metro area.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Friday investigators seized 221 pounds of marijuana, 4 kilograms of cocaine and almost $10,000 during the arrests of 20 suspects this week.

Among those arrested are 29-year-old Charles Lester Clapp and 22-year-old Jesus Maldonado Jr., who authorities say are suspected leaders of a group allegedly dealing drugs.

The indictments on conspiracy and drug charges follow a 10-month investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s office, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Weld County Drug Task Force, and Longmont police.
