Tennis, anyone?

Colorado’s first championship of the spring season, girls tennis, will be Thursday through Saturday. Class 5A will compete at the Gates Tennis Center, and 4A will be at Pueblo’s City Park. Heading into opening rounds, the most intriguing stories involve 5A No. 1 singles, where a fab four should come together by Friday’s semifinals (depending, of course, if they’re seeded correctly). Defending champion Caroline Schnell of Cherry Creek, right, figures to be pressed by Ponderosa’s Erin Sanders, third a year ago and state champion in 2007; Poudre’s Natalie Dunn, fourth in 2008; and Palmer’s Adrianna Wojakowska, who moved up after winning at No. 2 singles in 2008.
