GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo.—Sunlight Mountain Resort has withdrawn an application to build 830 housing units and 110,000 square feet of commercial space at the resort.

Resort general manager Tom Jankovsky says the decision will allow for more time to find a development partner and to gauge the economic climate.

Jankovsky says money was part of the decision to withdraw in mid-April.

Sunlight Inc., which owns the resort near Glenwood Springs, put the resort up for sale in 2005 for $50 million. A Florida development firm agreed to buy it but later pulled out based on concerns about whether it could get approvals for redevelopment work.
