YUMA, Colo.—A part-owner of Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird has Colorado ties.
Perry Blach, of Yuma, says his cousin and Mine That Bird co-owner, Leonard Blach, of Roswell, N.M., grew up in Yuma. He graduated from Colorado State University.
Blach and Mark Allen purchased Mine That Bird for $400,000 before last year’s Breeders’ Cup run in Baltimore.
