Denver police continue to search for a suspect in the fatal shooting of an Ethiopian immigrant who worked as a convenience-store clerk.
Natnael Mulugeta, 27, was shot in the chest with a rifle early Saturday morning at a 7-Eleven store.
The gunman is described as a white man about 30 years old, of average height and weight, with shoulder-length brown hair, according to Denver police.
He was wearing a green jacket and probably blue jeans.
Witnesses told police the shooter fled in a silver, four-door car, which looked to be about 5 to 8 years old.
The shooting happened about 3:30 a.m. Saturday at 567 E. Louisiana Ave., and Mulugeta fled the store to an alley, where he used a cellphone to call 911 for help.
Mulugeta, who was known to his customers as “Nathaniel,” worked for 7-Eleven for five years. A company official described him as “exemplary.”
He is one of at least three 7-Eleven clerks shot on the job in the last two years in the metro area.
Police have not released a motive in the case.
