A student from the Fort Collins area attending Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn., was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon inside a bookstore near the campus.
Johanna Justin-Jinich, 22, was a junior at the university. Police said she was shot several times while working a shift in the Red and Black Cafe.
Police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Stephen Morgan. They described him as armed and dangerous.
Justin-Jinich’s family declined to comment at this time.
Police would not confirm newspaper and TV reports that Morgan is Justin-Jinich’s ex-boyfriend.
Justin-Jinich would have graduated next year from Wesleyan, a private liberal-arts school in central Connecticut with about 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students. She was a 2006 graduate of the Westtown School, a private Quaker boarding school in rural Pennsylvania. George Plaven, The Denver Post; Associated Press reports
