OMAHA, Neb.—A former, two-time athletic director at the University of Nebraska at Omaha is returning to advise the new head of athletics.
The school announced Thursday that Don Leahy will become the associate athletic director, which was characterized as a part-time, advisory role.
Leahy will work with former Nebraska football star Trev Alberts, who was introduced last week as the UNO athletic director.
Leahy was the school’s athletic director from 1975 to 1985 and Creighton University’s athletic director from 1985 to 1990. He then retired, but came out of retirement when the UNO job opened up again in 1995. He stayed on there for two years.
