COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs police officers accidentally burst into the wrong home this morning when they were given the wrong address for a domestic disturbance.

A woman, who lives in the 4700 block of Debonair Circle in central Colorado Springs, called authorities about midnight and told them that she and her son were locked in a room in the house to get away from her husband. She told officers her husband was drunk and was threatening them.

According to police, she was so distraught that she gave the wrong address. Officers had already forced their way into a home on the 4600 block of Debonair Circle before they were told about the mistake.

Officers quickly went to the correct house and found Robert M. Mosholder, 37, with a gun. According to police, he had threatened to kill his wife and son with the weapon.

Mosholder was arrested without injury and his gun was confiscated. Officers also confiscated several other handguns and long rifles that were at the house. Mosholder stands to face possible charges of menacing, a felony, assault in the third degree and prohibited use of weapons, both misdemeanors.
