Police are looking for a person who shot four family members with “bird shot” from a shot gun.

The incident happened at about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 1800 block of North 26th Avenue just outside of Greeley, said Undersheriff Margie Martinez of the Weld County Sheriff’s Office.

Two adults and two juveniles, family members, were walking from one house to another along North 26th Avenue when they were hit by shot gun fire from about 100 yards away, Martinez said.

The four were taken to North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley and were treated for wounds, Martinez said.

Their injuries were not life-threatening, Martinez said.

Police are looking for an orange, two-door hatchback car that left the area just after the shooting, Martinez said.

A description of the shooter was not available.

Investigators did not disclose a motive in the incident.
