DENVER—Chrysler LLC is targeting 13 Chrysler dealerships in Colorado for closure as part of its bankruptcy court proceeding.
The company said in a court filing Thursday it wants to eliminate roughly a quarter of its 3,200 dealerships nationwide by early June. It says the network is antiquated and too many stores are competing with one another.
The filing lists 13 Colorado dealerships including some in the Denver area as well as in cities including Craig, Fort Morgan, Durango and La Junta.
Dealers were told Thursday morning via United Parcel Service letter if they would remain or be eliminated. They can appeal the decision.
