It will be a new experience for Carolina Hurricanes’ Eric Staal, far right, and his younger brother Jordan, right, of the Pittsburgh Penguins, when the two square off in the Eastern Conference finals starting Monday. There were hotly contested games on the rink in their yard, growing up in Thunder Bay, Ontario. But “not like this,” said Eric, 25. “The spotlight will be on, and it’s a challenge.” For now, the two seem content joking over who has the better playoff beard. “Mine is pretty bad,” Eric said. “But he was a grown man at age 12.
