Walleye spawn.
Following a difficult exercise that covered nearly five weeks, the Colorado Division of Wildlife collected some 90 million walleye eggs to complete its annual exercise to replenish the state’s stocking of walleye and saugeye. A late effort at Aurora and Carter reservoirs, coupled with better than average success in converting the eggs, allowed the agency to meet its quota, which included an exchange of sauger milt with Nebraska and wiper fry with Texas.
