LAMAR, Colo.—Authorities have released the names of two people killed when their vehicles crashed head-on outside of the eastern Colorado town of Lamar.
The Colorado State Patrol says 41-year-old William Arvold of Colorado Springs and 70-year-old Jeanette Dudding of Canon City died Wednesday when the Dodge Neon driven by Arvold crossed the center line of U.S. 50 and slammed into a Hyundai Santa Fe.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts and both airbags deployed, but the two suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
It wasn’t known what time the crash occurred.
Lamar is 110 miles east of Pueblo and 168 miles southeast of Denver.
