RAYS PUT PITCHERS ON DISABLED LIST
MIAMI — Scott Kazmir is out for at least two weeks, and Troy Percival’s career might be finished. Both pitchers were placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday by the Rays.
Kazmir, who has a left quadriceps strain, remained with the team. The 39-year-old Percival, sidelined by right shoulder tendinitis, flew home to California to discuss his baseball future with his family.

• Twins designated hitter Jason Kubel is day to day because of swelling in his left knee.
• The Athletics activated first baseman Nomar Garciaparra (calf) and optioned right-hander Chris Schroder to Triple-A Sacramento.
• Mariners left-hander Jarrod Washburn (knee) has been scratched from today’s start against the Giants. He will be replaced by Garrett Olson.
