COLORADO SPRINGS — Police have issued an Amber Alert and are attempting to stop the parents of an injured 23-month-old boy from taking the child to Mexico.
The Crimes Against Children Unit believes that Emanuel Guzman is in danger and requires medical care for severe burns on his hands that he suffered in April. The El Paso County Department of Human Services has a court order to take protective custody of Emanuel.
Emanuel is approximately 2 feet tall and weighs 30 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
His parents, Benito Guzman, 29, and Carmen Aguilera, 30, may be driving a tan 2004 Ford pickup with Colorado license plate 491SKZ, or a brown 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Colorado license plate 781SLH.
Guzman is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Aguilera is 5 feet 6 inches tall, 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
