Parks budget plan.
Colorado State Parks has approved changes in its overall operating plan designed to address a $3 million reduction in revenue from the state’s general operating fund.
The plan involves various actions: shorter operating hours at certain parks, mandatory furlough days for workers, layoff of full-time employees and certain fee increases.
John Martin inspection.
All boats launched at John Martin Reservoir will be inspected for aquatic nuisance species. Boats and trailers will be inspected prelaunch and upon exit from the water between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. Night launching will be allowed only for boats that have inspected with a wire seal intact.
Expanded launch.
The Colorado Division of Wildlife and U.S. Forest Service will add an additional ramp at Green Mountain Reservoir during the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Boaters may launch at both the Heeney Marina and Big Green ramp. The Big Green ramp will close again Tuesday while officials develop a long-term inspection plan.
