Driver Alex Lloyd made it to the finish of Sunday’s Indianapolis 500. So did his wife. Samantha Lloyd watched from pit road as her husband raced, despite contractions that were 10 minutes apart shortly after the race began. Sunday was her due date to give birth to the couple’s second daughter. Alex Lloyd finished the race in 13th place, and his wife headed back to their motor home to consult with her doctor. Samantha Lloyd said she felt well at the end of the race. “She can come now, that’s all right,” she said of the baby. “We made it through.” The Associated Press; AP photo
