BOULDER — Three bodies were found at about noon today inside a home in the 2400 block of Bluff Street, police said.
A woman flagged down an officer at about 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of 30th Street and Mapleton Avenue and told police that she had been in a home where someone was “either hurt or dead,” said Sarah Huntley, Boulder police spokeswoman.
The woman, a housekeeper who spoke only Spanish, didn’t have an exact address, so she took police to the home.
Police found three people, who “all appear to be adults,” dead inside the home, Huntley said. There were signs of “obvious trauma,” she said.
Officers determined none of the people “would benefit from immediate medical attention” so they backed out of the home to obtain a warrant to re-enter the property, Huntley said.
Maria Joesaar, 37, who lives down the block from the home, said the people who lived there were long-time residents.
Joesaar described the woman of the home as a “nice lady” who often did gardening work on the property with her husband.
“They seemed like a very nice couple,” Joesaar said.
Police did not release the names of the people found, citing a lack of positive identification.
Officers had the block taped off this afternoon and were going door-to-door interviewing neighbors.
At about 2 p.m., investigators, dressed in white crime-scene clothing, entered the two-story home. A blue Volvo and a green SUV were parked in front of the residence.
Just before 4 p.m., people police identified as family members and close friends of the victims went behind the crime scene tape, where they met with grief counselors. They didn’t stay long.
