LAWRENCE, Kan.—An autopsy has confirmed that a 19-year-old from Littleton attending the University of Kansas died of alcohol poisoning.
The report, released Tuesday, said Jason Wren had a blood alcohol level of .362 percent when he died in March at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house. That’s more than four times the legal limit to drive in Kansas.
His death sparked debate about what information should be released to parents.
Two weeks before his death, Wren had been kicked out of his residence hall for violating alcohol policies.
His father, Jay Wren, of Littleton, has said he would have pulled Jason out of the University of Kansas if he had known about the repeated alcohol and behavior infractions.
The university has since announced that it will start telling parents about alcohol and drug violations by students under the age of 21.
