PUEBLO, Colo.—A Pueblo man has been arrested and jailed following the death of a man who was found unresponsive.
Authorities say 44-year-old Mario Lopez was discovered Monday in his apartment by his live-in girlfriend, Tonna May, who called police.
Police Sgt. Eric Bravo says 23-year-old Vincent Edwin Allen Bouzek was arrested at about noon Monday in connection with the death.
Witnesses told police Bouzek confronted Lopez at a bar late Sunday after Lopez bragged about beating up May earlier that day. Bouzek and Lopez then started fighting outside.
Bravo says police had responded to a call about the altercation between Lopez and May on Sunday but no one was arrested because there were no serious injuries and Lopez agreed to leave the scene.
An autopsy is planned.
