DENVER—A Grand Junction man has been sentenced to federal prison, plus several years of supervised release, for possessing child pornography.
U.S. Attorney’s office spokesman Jeff Dorschner says 63-year-old Michael J. Morrow pleaded guilty March 16 to a charge of possessing child pornography. On Friday, U.S. District Court Judge Christine M. Arguello (ahr-GWAY’-oh) ordered Morrow to serve seven years in prison and 10 years of supervised release, in addition to registering as a sex offender.
The office of Acting U.S. Attorney David Gaouette (gow-ett) announced the sentence on Wednesday.
Authorities say Morrow had some 13,000 images of child pornography he had obtained over the course of several years from a man in the Netherlands.
