GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Grand Junction police are investigating what they call a suspicious death after a truck driver found a man unconscious near a vehicle outside a truck stop.

Officers responded to a call concerning the man at about 3:45 a.m. Wednesday outside the Acorn Travel Plaza, near the intersection of U.S. 6 and U.S. 50.

The man was found lying near the front of a Chrysler Lebaron, but police say the vehicle did not roll over the man.

The Mesa County coroner has been called to the scene.
