A 40-year-old Longmont man initially accused of trying to stab a roommate was surrounded by SWAT officers when he barricaded himself inside his home in 200 block East 17th Avenue tonight.
John Spencer gave up and came out after about an hour. Traffic was blocked off in the area during rush hour, police said.
He was booked into the Longmont jail and faces charges of attempted first-degree murder and felony menacing.
No one was injured in the incident, police said.
