Two events this weekend will honor the memory of avid bicyclist Shahram Moghadamnia, who was struck and killed by a U.S. Postal Service truck last year while riding on West 32nd Avenue near Golden. The events were previously scheduled April 16-17, then canceled because of heavy snow.
A memorial bike ride — actually, three rides of varying difficulty — is set for Saturday at noon, beginning at the Coors Wellness Center in Golden.
A benefit party with dance music supplied by The Jagtones will be Saturday at 7 p.m. at the D Note, 7519 Grandview Ave. in Olde Town Arvada. There will be a $10 cover charge. Proceeds benefit Judi’s House, founded by former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese to comfort children grieving the loss of loved ones, and Bicycle Colorado.
