Arizona courts can’t authorize officials to seize some funds sent through Western Union Co., the money-transfer company based in Douglas County, as part of probes of drug and immigrant smuggling, the state’s highest court ruled.
The Arizona Supreme Court concluded that state judges don’t have jurisdiction to issue warrants to seize funds transferred from outside the state to Mexico.
