Rapids forward Conor Casey, the top scorer in Major League Soccer this season, will miss Saturday’s game against Real Salt Lake after he was called up to the U.S. men’s national team roster.
The U.S. faces Honduras in Chicago on Saturday. The team’s roster was announced Thursday by coach Bob Bradley.
Casey, who has nine career caps with the national team, joins Rapids teammate Pablo Mastroeni for the game at Soldier Field in Chicago.
The Rapids will be without both players when they face rival Real Salt Lake on Saturday at Rio Tinto Stadium in Utah at 8 p.m.
Colorado (4-2-4), with 14 points, is in fourth place in the Western Conference and lead Salt Lake (3-6-2) by five points.
