New Wyoming football coach Dave Christensen will have to wait a few years to face his old program.

Wyoming announced Thursday that it is pushing back its two-game series with Missouri by six years.

The teams had agreed to meetings in 2011 and 2012. The new agreement postpones those games until 2017 and 2018.

Athletics director Tom Burman says Wyoming sought to delay the Missouri games after the Cowboys agreed to play Nebraska in 2011, 2013 and 2016.

Wyoming also has scheduled games against Texas in 2009, 2010 and 2012.

Burman says the change is meant to give Christen- sen and the Cowboys “an opportunity to build a program that will compete for conference championships and postseason play.”

Wyoming hired Christensen in December from Missouri, where he was offensive coordinator.

Casey joins U.S. squad for Saturday game.

Rapids forward Conor Casey, the top scorer in Major League Soccer, was called up to the U.S. men’s national team for the squad’s game Saturday against Honduras, U.S. coach Bob Bradley said.

Casey, who has nine career caps with the national team, joins Rapids teammate Pablo Mastroeni for the game at Soldier Field in Chicago.

The Rapids will be without both players when they face rival Real Salt Lake on Saturday at Rio Tinto Stadium in Utah at 8 p.m.

Colorado (4-2-4), with 16 points, is in fourth place in the Western Conference and leads Salt Lake (3-6-2) by five points.

CU basketball player in Canadian tryouts.

University of Colorado sophomore forward Julie Seabrook could be going to Thailand this summer if she makes the Canadian national under-19 junior world championship basketball team. Seabrook has been invited to tryouts for the team in Hamilton, Ontario, Saturday through Monday. The junior worlds are in Bangkok starting July 23.

Seabrook, a native of North Vancouver, British Columbia, played in 24 games in her freshman season for the Buffs, averaging just less than two points and 2.6 rebounds per game.
