Xcel Energy announced Friday that it will expand its wind power purchase from NextEra Energy at the Northeastern Colorado Wind Energy Center near Peetz. The facility will grow by 22.5 megawatts to nearly 175 megawatts.
NextEra Energy originally contracted to provide Xcel Energy with 151 megawatts of new wind energy from its wind farm at Peetz Table in January. The new agreement has been filed for approval with the Colorado Public Utilities Commission.
