ARVADA &mdash ;An Arvada church was interrupted during Sunday services by a man outside with a rifle — but the man was after a pesky bird, not parishioners.
More than a half-dozen Arvada and Jefferson County officers arrived at Risen Christ Lutheran Church after a motorist driving by the church reported seeing a man outside with a rifle. A K-9 unit was also dispatched to the church.
It turned out the man works at the church and was trying to scare away a bird. He wasn’t named or charged with a crime. He didn’t fire the air rifle.
