The Denver Outlaws jumped to the top of the Major League Lacrosse standings Sunday after topping the host Chicago Machine 15-11 at Soldier Field.
Brian Langtry and Josh Sims led the Outlaws with three goals apiece. Langtry’s effort included two 2-point goals.
“We played really well in every aspect,” Denver coach Brian Reese said. “Our offense was very patient and finished well. Defensively, we played our best game of the year and really limited their looks.”
The Outlaws (3-1) avenged a season-opening home loss to Chicago (1-3).
And when Denver faces Long Island on Saturday at Invesco Field at Mile High, it will be a battle of two of the MLL’s best teams. The Outlaws are tied with Long Island and Toronto for first place.
