BUENA VISTA — A hiker who spent two nights on Mount Princeton has been rescued with the help of the Colorado Army National Guard.
The Chaffee County sheriff’s office said 39-year-old Glyn Llewellyn was driven off the mountain Tuesday after being spotted by a National Guard high-altitude helicopter.
Lt. Joe McGuire said Llewellyn apparently got lost hiking the 14,000- foot peak Sunday.
He was reported missing when he didn’t turn up at work Monday, but the search was slowed because authorities were told he had planned to climb Mount Cameron. His vehicle was found near Mount Princeton, and searchers asked the Guard — in the area for a training mission — to help find him.
