GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Bail has been set at $500,000 for a suspect accused of shooting a man outside a Grand Junction apartment.
A judge set bail Wednesday for 22-year-old Robert Roy Rodriguez, who’s being held on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder.
Police say Rodriguez shot a man several times on May 31 near the victim’s unit at Chateau Apartments. Grand Junction police spokeswoman Kate Porras earlier described victim’s injuries as “severe,” but no update on his condition has been released. Police have not released the shooting victim’s name.
Rodriguez surrendered to police Tuesday.
Mesa County District Attorney Pete Hautzinger says he hasn’t decided whether to prosecute Rodriguez as a habitual criminal.
Rodriguez is due back in court June 17.
