Weddings come in all shapes and sizesthe big, the tony and the mini.

Let’s start with the July 3-4 nuptials of Pooja Voria and Manish Borde at the Ritz- Carlton. It’s a multiday traditional Indian wedding, starting July 3 with the Mehendi (Henna) Ceremony. Women celebrate the bride, coloring her hands and singing for luck.

On July 4, the groom arrives at the hotel via a carriage drawn by a white horse, sword in hand, followed by 200 friends marching down the closed street. Guests will be greeted by the Ritz-Carlton staff in Indian garb and sprinkled with rose water. The wedding comes down in the ballroom with more fire and food and hoopla than I have room to describe.

The N.Y. Times last Sunday reported on the wedding of Denver kid Joy Fahrenkrog (daughter of Denver’s Nancy Forsythe and stepdaughter of Judy Fahrenkrog) to Olympic rowing champ Timothy Foster. They fell for each other at a rowing camp in Spain in 2001 — but she returned to America, and, well, you know what they say about long-distance relationships. But she was at the Beijing Olympics last summer as a reporter, and he was there as a rowing coach.

He saw her pic in a magazine modeling Ralph Lauren’s USA uniforms, found out she was in Beijing, tracked her down, and — well, they fell in love again and got married this time.

And you can watch the wedding of Fort Collins couple Troy Cobb and Lacey Wil liams at 6 tonight on the TLC network. Seems he surprised her with a proposal in Miniland Las Vegas at Legoland in California. He put a sign reading “Lacey Will You Marry Me?” on the mini Lego Eiffel Tower and presented her with a ring inside a box made of Lego pieces. Now that’s a surprise.

No strings attached.

Lisa Gilford and son Max were having dinner at the bar at Strings on Monday night — and were kinda bored watching the baseball game on TV. So Max asked the bartender to switch it to “The Bachelorette.” As they’re watching, a group of guys came into Strings, including one who looked at the tube and announced, “Hey, that’s me!” Yes, it was Denver businessman and “Bachelorette” contestant Mark Huebner. He went on the date during Monday’s episode and went home with a rose.

Rain dance.

Wednesday night’s party for Denver Health at Elway’s was touch and go. It rained early, then stopped before the 5 p.m. outdoor slider party for 500 began. Then it rained again, a light but steady downpour that offered up a double rainbow. Then it stopped, leaving clear skies and a cool night.

Chris Daniels & the Kings rocked it under a tent. The band leaves town June 21-July 3 for its 17th (!) European tour in support of the new album “We’ll Meet Again.” The boys are back at Rock Bottom Brewery on July 10.

City spirit.

The 2009 U.S. Air Guitar Regional Championships windmill their way into the Bluebird Theater on Tuesday night . . . Lotsa chatter about Dave Matthews Band coming to Red Rocks on Aug. 23-25. Says promoter Chuck Morris, “As far as I know, there will be no Dave Matthews Band concerts this year in Colorado.” . . . Sez who: “Here’s to alcohol — the cause of, and answer to, all of life’s problems.” Homer Simpson
