FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.—Jennifer Barringer of the University of Colorado set a collegiate record Friday at the NCAA track and field championships.
She finished the 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 9:25.54, finishing nearly 15 seconds ahead of the rest of the field.
She’d set the previous mark just last month.
Barringer competed for the U.S. Olympic team in Beijing and finished ninth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. She won NCAA titles in the steeplechase last year and in 2006 as a freshman.
