COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo.—Copper Mountain Resort is moving its horses to a new corral to make room for a parking lot.
The current stable for trail-ride horses at Union Creek will be torn down and replaced with wetlands. The wetlands are to replace nearby wetlands the resort wants to use for a new parking lot. The new parking lot will cater to beginning skiers who use that part of the mountain.
The resort still plans to stage horse tours from the Union Creek area. But the resort plans to move living quarters for the horses to a corral along Highway 91.
