Ian Stewart should consider patenting his spin move at third base. In the fourth, he snared a grounder by Yuniesky Betancourt, spun on his backside and threw the ball to Clint Barmes at second. Barmes completed the nifty double play. Stewart pulled off a similar spinner last week in Milwaukee.

Mariners third baseman Adrian Beltre plays rough with Rockies starter Jason Marquis. He entered the game 4-for-12 vs. Marquis, with a homer and three RBIs. He promptly pounded a double to left in the first, repeated the feat in the third and drilled a run-scoring single through the box to tie the game 1-all in the fifth.
Slump buster.
