Qwest and IBM announced a five-year agreement Wednesday to deliver information- technology services to midsize businesses. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Denver-based Qwest and IBM will market network-management services that simplify technology operations, including Web, network and communications, while minimizing capital expenses, the companies said in a statement.
Through the partnership, customers will have access to 2 4/7 security services designed to protect against malicious Internet activity such as viruses, spam and denial-of-service attacks. The plan will monitor networks for optimum operation, notify customers of problems and initiate resolution.
In addition, the plans call for supporting Internet-protocol telephony service.
Customers will be able to monitor the performance of their network services and make changes through a secure, Web-based portal with real-time alerts and advisories, according to the companies. The Denver Post
