COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Two nonprofit radio stations in Colorado Springs are conducting offseason fundraising drives to help them weather the recession.
Classical station KCME (88.7 FM) hopes to raise $50,000 this week to tide it over until a fall fund drive in October. News and music station KRCC (91.5 FM) hopes to raise more than $100,000 in a one-day drive on June 28.
KCME’s annual spring fund drive was $55,000 short of its $215,000 goal. KRCC met its $200,000 goal in a May drive but its underwriting support from business has diminished.
