Hey buddy, can you spare a dime — for my dad?
August Ritter, the son of Gov. Bill Ritter, has come up with the perfect Father’s Day gift: a campaign donation.
“He’s already got a solid bike, a lucky fishing pole he won’t be giving up anytime soon, and enough neckties to last him halfway through a second term,” the 23-year-old wrote in a fundraising e-mail.
“Instead of giving Dad more stuff he doesn’t need, I want to help him continue doing what he loves more than anything: serving our family and millions like ours as Colorado’s governor.”
June 30 is the deadline for reporting campaign donations this quarter, and candidates in these last days are making a push for contributions.
Ritter, a Democrat, is seeking a second term in 2010.
