BRECKENRIDGE, Colo.—Authorities say human bones found by hikers in Summit County may be those of a person reported missing in Aurora in 2001.
The Summit County Sheriff’s office says authorities found clothes, a backpack, a jaw bone and other remains. They also found two forms of identification that may be linked to the case of a missing person. The coroner has not released the name of the person pending positive identification.
The hikers called 911 Thursday afternoon after they found the remains on the Officer’s Gulch recreation area, about 75 miles west of Denver.
