Getting your player ready...
The way new Kansas City Chiefs coach Todd Haley sees it, getting his team in better shape was his top priority following last year’s 2-14 season. To that end, he instituted mandatory weigh-ins at the beginning and end of each week, making players who were too heavy on Fridays do extra running. “We were out of shape and not really strong. The players understood that to be around, we weren’t going to have a fat team,” said Haley, who has shed some serious pounds himself, going from 217 to 192. “And if you were fat, we’d probably just move on at some point as soon as we could.”
