Forty-year Carbondale resident John Nelson Palmer, a prominent supporter of the Mountain Fair, KDNK radio and the Carbondale Council on the Arts and Humanities and former town trustee, died of Stage 4 esophageal cancer last week. His final remark: “My main regret is that Keith Richards is going to outlive me.”
