GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A man on trial for a fatal drunken-driving accident in 2006 near Fruita claims he wasn’t driving.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jade Huskey of Fruita faces several charges in the death of 35-year-old Molly Gomez. Prosecutors say the pair were driving to a party when their car slammed into an I-70 guard rail at 140 mph.

Husky’s attorneys said Gomez’s injuries indicate she was driving the car. Prosecutors say the driver’s seat was adjusted for Huskey’s height and that surveillance video from before the crash shows Huskey carrying what appear to be the car’s keys.

Huskey’s trial began Tuesday.
