Chelsey Collins of Omni Interlocken Golf Club outlasted Ashley Tait of Raccoon Creek G.C. to win the Colorado Women’s Golf Association Match Play Championship on Thursday at Pinehurst Country Club. Collins, a former standout at Monarch High School, earned a 4 and 3 victory over Tait, a three-time Class 4A champion from Mullen.

Wyoming suspends Bolling and Morgan.

Wyoming football coach Dave Christensen said senior receivers Greg Bolling (two games) and Donate Morgan (one game) were suspended because of violations of team rules. No further details were provided.

“Whizzer” on RMAC All-Century football team.

The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its All-Century football team in honor of the conference’s 100th anniversary. The team includes Byron “Whizzer” White, a halfback at Colorado from 1935-37, when the Buffaloes were still in the RMAC; former Chadron (Neb.) State tailback Danny Woodhead, whose 7,962 career rushing yards are a NCAA record; Earl “Dutch” Clark, a quarterback at Colorado College from 1927-29; and Chad Friehauf, Colorado Mines quarterback from 2001-04, who set a Division II record for passing yards in a season with 4,646.
