A car plunged into the South Platte River on Thursday morning in Denver, and firefighters rescued the driver from about 3 feet of water.
The accident happened about 8:50 a.m. near Interstate 25 and South Platte River Drive.
The car landed on its wheels and the driver was sitting in it with water up to her chest when members of the Denver Fire Department Water Rescue crew pulled her to safety, said Assistant Chief Steven Garrod.
