A Northglenn Police Department motorcycle officer was seriously injured Thursday morning when he was hit by a commercial truck that ran a red light, police said.
The officer, a 10-year veteran of the department who was not identified, was taken to a local hospital.
The crash happened about 7 a.m. at East 120th Avenue and the southbound ramp of Interstate 25, said Sgt. Rick Kellogg.
The officer suffered serious injuries, Kellogg said. Police said the driver of the truck was a 17-year-old boy.
