The executive director of a nonprofit organization that helps finance job- development projects in Denver is leaving to take a senior position with the city of Richmond.

Peter Chapman, executive director of Seedco Financial Denver, told Denver City Council members Thursday that he had accepted the job.

Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones is appointing Chapman as that city’s deputy chief administrative officer for economic and community development, effective July 13.

Chapman is a former adviser to Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper. He left that job to run the Denver branch of Seedco. Seedco Denver is a partnership between the city of Denver and New York-based Seedco Financial Services. It draws from federal aid the city receives to spark community development.
